Children's Learn to Swim Program

The Sarah Lawrence College Learn to Swim Program is a group-style swim lesson program designed for children ages 4 – 14 years old. No prior level of experience is required. Across our four skill-level groups, Learn to Swim instructors work on activities ranging from beginner water safety, floats, breath control and entry/exit strength to advanced fitness swimming technique for all four competitive strokes. Upon joining our program each participant is evaluated for their ability and then placed in a group most effective for their current skill level, and potential to improve. Learn to Swim instructors are Sarah Lawrence College students, many of whom are members of our NCAA Swimming team and lifeguard staff.

To register for the 2025 program, bring a completed version of the Swim Lesson Brochure to the Campbell Sports Center building at the Sarah Lawrence College campus along with payment. Cash or check is accepted and please make sure to complete all checks to “Sarah Lawrence College”. Registration will begin immediately, and early sign-ups are encouraged as there is a limited number of space and instructor availability. Participants are welcome to register their swimmer for our Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday session, or choose week by week, day by day, or lesson by lesson as needed. All payments must be made prior to beginning of lesson session.
