Lane came to the Gryphons in September 2021 following a two-year stint as a graduate assistant for the University of Pittsburgh men's basketball team. With the Panthers, Lane assisted in many areas of the team, including video and analytics, skill development, recruiting, and operations. He edited scouting reports and captured game and practice video. He participated in drills aimed at improving offensive moves and defensive decision making, working with current NBA players Cameron Johnson and Justin Champagnie.
Lane played a hand in organizing recruiting efforts, greeting prospective recruits on campus and completing the administrative duties necessary to allow visits. From an operations standpoint, Lane assisted with travel coordination and scheduling.
Prior to his graduate assistantship, he was a student manager for Pitt men's basketball, performing similar duties. Lane was the head manager in charge of all filming and editing of games and practices.
Lane graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 2019 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in communications and a minor in sociology.
