Sean Clores

Sean Clores begins his third season as an assistant coach for the Gryphons. He is involved in all aspects of the program including recruiting, scouting, practice, and game preparation.

Clores arrived at Sarah Lawrence after serving as the Head Men’s Basketball Coach at The City College of New York. While with CCNY, he played a key role in the development of the CUNYAC Rookie of the Year. His team ended the season with wins over Division II bound College of Staten Island and CUNYAC champions, Brooklyn College. Additionally, the team was recognized by the NABC for academic excellence.

Before CCNY, Clores was on Tobin Anderson’s staff at Division II powerhouse, St. Thomas Aquinas. During the 2018-19 season, STAC was ranked #12 nationally with a 25-7 overall record, advancing to the NCAA Sweet 16. Clores helped develop Demetre Roberts, Grant Singleton, and Osbel Caraballo who received All-Conference Honors.

Clores started coaching at the collegiate level at John Jay College under Ryan Hyland from 2012-15. Clores was heavily involved in all aspects of the program, with a focus on recruiting. Clores helped recruit 18 student-athletes to the program including two CUNY Rookie of the Year winners (Essien Epps and Wyatt Harkins). Epps would go on to break the school’s scoring record during his 4 years. Clores helped recruit five CUNYAC All-Stars including Doug Levy and Kyle LaGuardia. Levy went on to play overseas in Israel. During Clores’ three seasons on staff, the team improved each season, advancing to the CUNYAC semi-finals during the 2015 season.

Clores started his coaching career at Fairfield Prep High School (CT) while a student at Fairfield University. Upon graduation, he coached the Black River Varsity Basketball Team for two years while living in Jamaica, West Indies working for Passionist Volunteers International.

In 2022, Clores founded the Grow Your Game Basketball Camp, returning to where he volunteered with PVI in Mandeville, Jamaica. The program uses basketball to help students succeed and have access to new opportunities in Jamaica and the U.S.

Clores graduated from Fairfield University in 2010 with a B.A. in Communications. He earned his Master’s Degree in Education from Molloy in 2015. He teaches physical education at Convent of the Sacred Heart School and resides with his wife, Danielle, in Astoria, NY.
