Thad Hughes was named men's and women's tennis head coach in August of 2017.

Hughes joins the Gryphons after serving 15 years as the Director of Tennis at the Birchwood Swim and Tennis Club in nearby Chappaqua, New York. He was responsible for all tennis operations including staffing, maintaining courts, and scheduling all events ranging from mixers to USTA matches. In 2014, he guided his USTA 2.5 team to a national championship.

Prior to his time in Chappaqua, Hughes spent nine years as the Director of Tennis at the Westchester Indoor Tennis Club, while coaching for Club Fit Briarcliff. In addition, he has served as a head professional at the Armonk Tennis Club, the Grand Slam Tennis Club, and the Greenwich Country Club.

Hughes currently resides in Thornwood, N.Y.
