2018: Started in 30 games, including 23 starts in center field ... finished with 11 hits, nine RBIs and two runs batted in ... scored two runs and notched a RBI in a victory over Alfred State (Mar. 11) ... recorded a hit, RBI and run in a win over Albertus Magnus (Mar. 15) ... scored two runs in a series sweep of Lehman (Mar. 28) ... recorded a hit in wins over Purchase (Apr. 8) and New Rochelle (Apr. 13) ... finished season ranked No. 4 on SLC's all-time games played list, No. 5 in hits, No. 6 in RBIs and No. 7 in batting average.    
 
2017: Started in all 32 games … posted team’s second-best batting average (.343), slugging percentage (.400) and on-base percentage (.369) … totaled 10 multi-hit games and led team with six multi-RBI games … broke team record with four sacrifice hits and finished season as program leader in career sacrifices hits (5) … hit 3-for-5 with two runs batted in and a steal in win over Franciscan (March 16) … in Old Westbury series, hit 4-for-8 with a triple, three runs and three runs batted in, helping Gryphons to shutout sweep (March 23) … set team record with six hits against Yeshiva, tying season-high in all of NCAA Division III (April 23) … hit 3-for-5 with a triple and batted in three runs in finale at New Rochelle (April 29).

2016: Played in 27 games, making 26 starts … recorded 17 hits, including a pair of doubles … scored seven runs and batted in nine … went 3-for-3 with a run and RBI against Southern Vermont (March 16) … successfully stole a base against York, hitting 4-for-7 in the series (March 22) … hit 2-for-2 with a run in win over St. Joseph's Brooklyn (April 16).

Off the Field: Concentrating in pre-medicine … studying writing.

High School: Helped team to a division championship in 2014 ... guided squad to division and regional titles in 2013.

Personal: Parents are Laura Martinez and Dan Shapiro … has two siblings, Amanda and Ben … aspires to be an emergency room doctor or pediatrician.
