Men's Volleyball Ends a Weekend of Double-Headers 1-3

Bronxville, NY - February 27, 2012

     Men's Volleyball ended the weekend with one win and three losses after back-to-back double-headers on Saturday and Sunday.

     On Saturday, the Gryphons faced Medgar Evers and Penn State Behrend at home, defeating Medgar Evers for the second time this season on the heels of a victory against the Cougars on Sunday, 2/19. The Gryphons beat the Cougars in straight games, 28-18, 25-19, and a close game to end the match at 26-24.

     Following the game against Medgar Ever, the Gryphons then turned their attention to a match-up against Penn State Behrend, which Sarah Lawrence lost in three, 14-25, 9-25 and 10-25.

     On Sunday, the Gryphons traveled to Albertus Magnus College in New Haven, Connecticut, where the team squared off against Regis College and the host school. Although the Gryphons were beaten by Albertus Magnus in three games (13-25, 9-25, 19-25), the Sarah Lawrence Gryphons battled against the Regis College Pride, going to five games. The Gryphons took the first game by two (25-23), and then lost the next two to Regis (7-25, 19-25). With the match on the line, the Gryphons bested the Pride in the fourth game 25-16. With the fifth game decided in just 15 points, the Gryphons fell 8-15.

     The Gryphons' next match will be at Copper Union on Friday, March 2. Game time is 7:30pm.
