NEW YORK—Three Sarah Lawrence College student-athletes have been honored in the latest edition of Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference awards for the period ending November 17, as announced by the league on Tuesday.
For the third week in a row, SLC swept the HVIAC swimming awards, as
Jay Pulitano (Mountain Lakes, N.J./Mountain Lakes) and
Colette Harley (Shelton, Conn./Shelton) were recognized as HVIAC Player and Rookie of the Week, respectively. In addition, first-year player
Stevan Radosavljevic (Lazarevac, Serbia/Grammar School Lazarevac) was tabbed HVIAC Men's Basketball Rookie of the Week.
Pulitano had three winning swims to lead Sarah Lawrence to a split decision in Saturday's double-dual vs. Mount Saint Mary and Brooklyn College. The junior began the meet by swimming the lead-off leg of the Gryphons' winning 400 medley relay (4:37.71). Pulitano then picked up a win in the 400 individual medley, touching the wall in 5:33.07. Finally, in the 200 breaststroke, Pulitano won in 2:54.75, just 0.66 second behind the SLC program record.
In the same meet, Harley notched two wins, including an SLC record. The rookie began the meet by swimming the butterfly leg of the Gryphons' winning 400 medley relay. In the 200 butterfly, Harley recorded a team record with a winning time of 2:28.58. She rounded out her day with a third-place swim in the 500 freestyle (6:04.76).
In his career debut, Radosavljevic scored 22 points and grabbed 16 rebounds vs. Maritime to earn his first career double-double. He shot 9-for-17 from the field and made 4-of-5 free throws. For the two-game weekend, the rookie averaged 15.5 points, 10.0 rebounds and 3.0 steals.
