TEANECK, N.J.—Sarah Lawrence College men's soccer concluded its season with a 6-0 loss to Yeshiva University in a non-conference game at Farleigh Dickinson University Soccer Field on Thursday.
Yeshiva (3-12) got on the scoreboard on a shot by Ronan Weinberg-Waks. YU's Leon Aboudi increased the lead in the 35th minute, giving the Maccabees a 2-0 lead.
Sarah Lawrence (3-14) was held to just one shot in the first half.
Sebastian Hermann (Munich, Germany/Wilhelmsgymnasium) pulled the trigger in the 43rd minute, but the shot was successfully defended by Yeshiva keeper Moishi Eisenmann.
In the second period, SLC's
Juan Sucre (Caracas, Venezuela/ASFM (Monterrey, Mexico)) notched the first shot on goal by either team. Sucre added a second shot in the period, while
Ishaan Pujari (Bangalore, India/Inventure Academy) and
Tahmid Munat (Dhaka, Bangladesh/Notre Dame) rounded out the five Gryphon shots on the day.
Yeshiva added to its lead in the 61st minute, when Itamar Ben David scored his team-high 10th goal of the season. Ben David netted another goal in the 70th minute to make the score 4-0; he also contributed two assists in the game.
YU's Daniel Benchimol scored in the 79th minute, and Rafi Friedman concluded the scoring in the 84th minute. Eisenmann finished with two saves.
SLC keeper
Elliott Warkus (Waimea, Hawai'i/Parker School) wrapped up 2013 by stopping a season-high 13 shots; he totaled 112 saves on the year to set a new Gryphon record.
The 2013 season also saw Pujari break his own season records with 13 goals, 57 shots and 34 shots on goal. Pujari is SLC's career leader in all three stats.
