NEW YORK—Sarah Lawrence College men's basketball player
Graham Gilleran (San Francisco, Calif./Archbishop Riordan) has been selected as Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week for the period ending Jan. 26, as announced by the league on Tuesday.
Gilleran averaged 16.5 points and 9.5 rebounds per game in a 2-0 week for Sarah Lawrence, helping the Gryphons improve to 2-0 in league play for the first time in team history. The first-year forward/center recorded 18 points and seven rebounds in the Gryphons' win over King's and contributed 15 points and 12 rebounds for his fourth double-double of the season in a win over Culinary.
In addition to seven assists and seven steals, Gilleran also notched eight blocks and leads the league in the category.
Also, sophomore captain
Josh Niebloom (Livingston, N.J./Golda Och Academy) was selected to the HVIAC Honor Roll. Niebloom averaged 16.0 points helping the Gryphons to a pair of league wins. He scored a season-high 25 points, including five three-pointers, to lead SLC to a 78-48 victory over King's to earn the program's first conference win since 2011.
