Box Score WASHINGTON, D.C.—Rookie
Malin Segal (Marblehead, Mass./Concord Academy) led the Gryphons with 11 points, as Sarah Lawrence College men's basketball fell to Gallaudet University, 74-52, at GU Field House on Saturday.
Gallaudet (3-1) pulled away early, taking a nine-point lead at 11-2. Sarah Lawrence (1-4) closed the gap, coming as close as 13-10, following a Segal three-pointer. The Bison pulled away for good, accruing an 11-point halftime lead, 34-23, en route to the win.
Segal led the Gryphons in scoring for the third time in five games. Three of his four field goals were from behind the arc, matching his career high and the team's most three-pointers this season.
Sophomore
Graham Gilleran (San Francisco, Calif./Archbishop Riordan) scored nine points and notched team-bests with five rebounds, three steals and three assists. Classmated
Stevan Radosavljevic (Lazarevac, Serbia/Grammar School Lazarevac) also scored nine points and pulled in four defensive boards.
Sophomores
Mat Gerak (Monroe, Conn./Masuk) and
Ege Ozcan (Istanbul, Turkey/Andrews Osborne Acad. (Ohio)) totaled eight points apiece, while Gerak and
Jeff Jordan II (Smithfield, Va., Smithfield) tallied three assists each.
The Gryphons' bench was held to a season-low 10 points.
Sarah Lawrence returns home on Tuesday when the Gryphons host their first-ever Skyline opponent. SLC tips-off against St. Joseph's College Long Island on Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Campbell Sports Center.
