NEW YORK—For the second time this season, Sarah Lawrence College student-athletes have swept all four weekly swimming awards from the Skyline, as announced by the league on Monday.
Colette Harley (Shelton, Conn./Shelton) and
Cameron Martinez (Aledo, Texas/Aledo) were named Women's and Men's Swimmers of the Week, while
Hannah Lawson (Portland, Ore./Pacific Crest Community School) and
Albert Riley (Long Beach, Calif./Wilson) were tabbed Women's and Men's Rookies of the Week. The same foursome ran the table on Nov. 24.
Harley picked up her second Swimmer of the Week selection after leading the SLC women to their second Ranger Invitational title in three seasons. She set a meet record in the 200 yard butterfly with a winning time of 2:22.43. The sophomore also placed second in the 500 freestyle (5:45.12) and 100 butterfly (1:03.06), setting an SLC team record in the latter.
Lawson was named Rookie of the Week for the fourth time after winning both breaststroke events. She broke both of her own team records en route to a win in the 100 breast (1:13.19) and 200 breast (2:37.87). Her 200 breaststroke record is a new Ranger Invitational record, and she also placed fourth in the 200 individual medley.
Harley and Lawson swam together as members of all four Green and White relays. The squads broke four SLC relay records and set meet records in the 400 freestyle relay and 400 medley relay.
On the men's side, Martinez collected his fourth Swimmer of the Week honors of the season following three individual wins at the Ranger Invitational. He established new meet records with winning swims in the 100 butterfly (51.02) and 200 individual medley (1:56.10). The junior also won the 200 butterfly (1:53.79).
Riley was also recognized for the fourth time, having been named Rookie of the Week in each his four weeks of action this season. The first year broke two SLC records in a single race, winning the 1650 freestyle in a Ranger Invitational record time (18:23.11) while splitting a team-record opening 1000 free (11:06.09). Riley also finished behind Martinez as runner-up in the 100 butterfly.
Martinez and Riley also comprised half of the Gryphons' relay squad which posted SLC records in the 200 medley and 200 free relays while winning the 400 free relay (3:30.04) with a new Ranger Invite record.
