ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y.—Sarah Lawrence College men's volleyball competed at the two-day Bard College Raptors Volleyball Tournament at Stevenson Athletic Center on Friday and Saturday. The Gryphons were defeated in all three of their non-conference matches, finishing sixth at the event.

Sarah Lawrence (0-12) began the weekend by squaring off against host Bard (4-14). The Raptors held the Gryphons to just six kills—four by junior Ishaan Pujari (Bangalore, India/Inventure Academy)—as they took the match, 25-10, 25-8, 25-8.

In Friday's second match, SLC squared off against Wells College (8-6) for the second time this season. The Green and White fared much as they did in the teams' first showdown, and the Express walked away with the win, 25-7, 25-11, 25-11. Pujari and sophomore Derek Komar (Stormville, N.Y./John Jay) led the Gryphons with three kills apiece.

On Saturday, SLC faced Keuka College (4-10) in the tournament's fifth-place match.  The Storm were a formidable opponent for the young Gryphons, taking the victory, 25-8, 25-9, 25-13. Pujari posted three more kills to lead the Gryphons in the match.

On the weekend, senior setter Brent Terry (Crownpoint, N.M./Idyllwild Arts Academy) recorded 16 assists. Pujari led the team with 10 kills followed by Komar with seven. Pujari also anchored the defense with 11 digs, while Terry notched seven and libero Justin Heftel (Spokane, Wash./Saint George's School) tallied six digs.

Sarah Lawrence is on the road again this week, playing its first Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference match on Tuesday at Yeshiva University. The Gryphons then travel to NYU-Polytechnic on Thursday before returning home to host York College (N.Y.) and Cooper Union on Saturday.
