BRONXVILLE, N.Y.—On the team's second weekend of action, Sarah Lawrence College men's volleyball was defeated, 3-0, by both College of Mount Saint Vincent and Cooper Union at Noyes Court at Campbell Sports Center on Friday and Saturday.
On Friday, Sarah Lawrence (0-5) squared off against Mt. St. Vincent (1-1). The Dolphins won the first eight points of the match and went on a 14-1 run to clinch the first set, 25-7. In the second set, the Gryphons stayed close, trailing only by three at 10-7. From there, SLC was unable to gain any offensive momentum, as the Mount landed 12 kills without an attack error to win, 25-11.
The Green and White were able to stay close in the first half of the third set, but a 6-0 CMSV run broke open a Dolphin lead, and five straight points for the visitors gave the Dolphins a 25-17 victory to clinch the match.

Ishaan Pujari (Bangalore, India/Inventure Academy) posted a team-high three kills. Service aces told the story of the match, as the Dolphins beat out the Gryphons 22-1 in a showdown of soon-to-be Skyline rivals.
In Saturday's showdown with Cooper Union, Sarah Lawrence's offense showed better consistency, reaching the 20-kill mark as a squad for the first time this season.
Cooper Union took a 5-0 lead to start the match, but the Gryphons fought back to earn a 9-7 edge. From there, the visitors scored 11 of the next 12 points en route to a 25-17 opening set. After Sarah Lawrence led the second set, 9-5, CU tied the match at 10-10. The teams dueled to a 24-24 deadlock, but despite five kills by Pujari, Cooper Union emerged with the 26-24 win.
The third set saw the Green and White again take an early lead at 6-2, and SLC kept the advantage at 10-8. A strong term-of-service by Cooper setter Jonathan Ostrander put his team on top, and SLC was swept with a 25-16 set.
Cooper's Matthew Lee had eight digs and eight digs. Ostrander posted a double-double with 20 assists, 11 digs and eight service aces.
