BRONXVILLE, N.Y.—Sarah Lawrence College men's volleyball fell to St. Joseph's College Brooklyn, 3-2, and to Yeshiva University, 3-0, in a Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference tri-match at Noyes Court at Campbell Sports Center on Sunday.

Sarah Lawrence (0-19, 0-3 HVIAC) began the day with a rough start against St. Joseph's Brooklyn (3-4, 1-1 HVIAC). The Bears took an early 7-3 lead and a 7-1 run late in the match helped the visitors close out a 25-16 opening set.

In the second set, five straight Gryphon points gave SLC a lead at 12-10, but St. Joseph's fired back to regain the advantage, 17-13. Sarah Lawrence pulled within a point at 23-22 but SJC scored the final two points of the 25-22 set.

The Gryphons came out firing in the third set, cracking open a 10-5 lead, and staying in front at 18-13. SLC junior Ishaan Pujari (Bangalore, India/Inventure Academy) caught fire, landing six kills and a service ace in the last nine points of the set to hand the Green and White a 25-15 set to stay alive.

SLC kept the momentum going in the fourth set, tallying 12 kills while capitalizing on nine St. Joseph's attack errors. The Gryphons took a 12-9 lead and used an 8-1 run to go in front 20-12. Despite a late Bears rally, SLC closed out the 25-17 set to take the match to the Gryphons' first deciding set of the season.

St. Joseph's finally gained a foothold on the match, sprinting out to a 9-1 lead in the fifth set. Though the Gryphons worked to cut the deficit, their efforts proved to be too late, and St. Joseph's Brooklyn clinched the five-set win, 15-10.

Pujari led the match with career-highs of 25 kills and 25 digs. Sophomore Cameron Martinez (Aledo, Texas/Aledo) followed with seven kills and six digs, while setter Nikos Efstratudakis (London, Ontario/American Community School of Athens) notched five kills, 38 assists and 14 digs. Senior Brent Terry (Crownpoint, N.M./Idyllwild Arts Academy) recorded 16 digs in his libero debut, while classmate Luc Mitchell (Chapel Hill, N.C./East Chapel Hill) tallied a career-best four blocks.

For St. Joseph's, Raul Urshela led the Bears with 22 kills and 15 digs. Setter Iqbal Husain posted 14 digs, and 26 assists.

In the neutral site match, Yeshiva (3-9, 3-0 HVIAC) overcame early mistakes to defeat St. Joseph's, 3-1 (23-25, 25-7, 25-14, 25-15).

In the day's final match, Yeshiva continued to play strong volleyball and made quick work of Sarah Lawrence. The Gryphons were held to just 17 kills compared to 37 by the Maccabees, as YU came away with the 25-14, 25-15, 25-11 win.

Pujari again led the Gryphon attack with eight kills while helping the defense with seven digs. Sophomore Cameron Martinez (Aledo, Texas/Aledo) landed five kills, and Terry added eight digs. Efstratudakis totaled 11 assists in the match.

Yeshiva's Menachem Goldstein recorded 10 kills, while Joseph Lipton had eight. Setter Adam Rhodes assisted 35 kills, and Mishael Miller led the YU defense with nine digs.
