Mackenzie Gassett (Camden, Maine/Camden Hills Regional) has been honored by the Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference as Softball Rookie of the Week for the period ending March 30, as announced by the league on Tuesday.
Through the Gryphons' first six games, Gassett has led the Sarah Lawrence offense with a .625 average at the plate. The rookie senior has hit in every game, going 10-for-16 from the plate with six runs and an RBI. Gassett has posted two runs and two or more hits in games against each of SLC's opponents, while she is slugging .813, including a double and a triple. Her best game was a 2-for-2 day with two runs, a double, a stolen base and a successful sacrifice fly against Valley Forge.

Rebecca Kuntz (Northridge, Calif./Chaminade College Preparatory) was named to the HVIAC weekly Honor Roll. The right-handed pitcher has appeared in all six of the Gryphons' games, making three starts in the circle and three relief appearances. In 20.0 innings of work, she racked up 18 strikeouts and three complete games. Kuntz has also helped herself from the plate, hitting .294 and slugging .529 to start the year.
Sarah Lawrence College softball hosts Briarcliffe College on Tuesday at 4 p.m. and 6 p.m.
