Box Score BROOKLYN, N.Y.—Sarah Lawrence College men's soccer was shut out by York College (N.Y.), 5-0, at Aviator Sports Complex on Monday.
Sarah Lawrence (0-3) posted its first shot in the 14th minute, as
Ishaan Pujari (Bangalore, India/Inventure Academy) fired a bullet just wide of the net. Pujari posted two shots in the half and three in the game.
Forward
Alix Legrand (Damascus, Pa./Scranton Prep) also had a shot in the first half.
York (2-3) scored its first goal in the seventh minute, but the Gryphons defense held the deficit to just 1-0 at halftime.
In the second stanza, the Cardinals scored two more in the first 12 minutes, adding goals in the 74th and 89th minute to round out the 5-0 York victory.
SLC keeper
James Berry (New York, N.Y./Kent) faced 27 York shots, including 13 on goal. Berry, who leads the Skyline Conference in saves per game notched eight more in Monday's game.
Sarah Lawrence next plays this weekend when the Gryphons kickoff Skyline Conference play. The Green and White host The College at Old Westbury at Randall's Island Park on Saturday at 8:30 p.m.
