NEW YORK—Three Sarah Lawrence College student-athletes have been named to the Skyline Conference Honor Roll, as announced by the league on Tuesday. Swimmers Gabby Risica and
Hannah Lawson (Portland, Ore./Pacific Crest Community School) represented SLC on the women's swimming honor roll, while
Jack Chu (Hong Kong/Irvington (Calif.)) was honored alongside men's swimming
Rookie of the Week Brendan McAlevy.
WOMEN'S SWIMMINGSophomore Gabby Risica won three events to lead the SLC women to a 116-80 victory over Staten Island on Saturday. In the day's first race, she led off the Green and White 400 yard medley relay (4:28.99), helping the foursome to a nine-second victory. Risica swept the sprints by posting individual wins in the 50 freestyle (27.92) and 100 freestyle (1:02.56).
Rookie
Hannah Lawson (Portland, Ore./Pacific Crest Community School) earned two wins, including her contribution to the 400 medley relay. Her solo victory came in the 200 yard freestyle (2:12.19). SLC's record holder in the event, Lawson finished as runner-up in the 200 breaststroke (2:42.52).
MEN'S SWIMMINGSophomore
Jack Chu (Hong Kong/Irvington (Calif.)) won the 50-yard freestyle (23.29) and 200-yard backstroke (2:17.12) events in a 108-68 home loss to Staten Island. Chu broke the Green and White record with his winning time in the 200 backstroke, putting his name on his fourth individual record. Chu also swam on the Gryphons' winning 400 medley relay (4:18.56).
Sarah Lawrence women's and men's swimming compete in the season's final dual meet on Saturday. The Gryphons will take on Skyline opponent Old Westbury and host The College of New Rochelle in a double-dual meet starting at 4:30 p.m.
