NEW YORK—Sarah Lawrence College student-athlete
Brendan McAlevy (Fairfax, Va./Paul VI Catholic) was named Skyline men's swimming Rookie of the Week for the second time this season, as announced by the league on Tuesday.
In Saturday's meet against Staten Island, McAlevy swam the anchor leg of the 400 yard medley relay (4:18.56), helping the Gryphons to a win in the day's first event. Individually, McAlevy finished third in both the 50 yard freestyle and 200 yard backstroke events.
McAlevy was previously named Rookie of the Week on Dec. 15. Sarah Lawrence men's swimming has captured six rookie accolades this season.
Alongside McAlevy,
three other SLC swimmers were named to the Skyline Honor Roll.
Sarah Lawrence men's swimming competes in the season's final dual meet on Saturday. The Gryphons will take on Skyline opponent Old Westbury in a neutral-site meet in waters of The College of New Rochelle. Action begins at 4:30 p.m.
