Box Score OLD WESTBURY, N.Y.-Sarah Lawrence College men's basketball was defeated by SUNY College at Old Westbury, 85-48, in a Skyline game at Clark Athletic Center on Saturday.
Sarah Lawrence (1-16, 0-11 Skyline) was stymied by a Panther defense that forced the third-most Gryphon turnovers this season. Old Westbury (7-10, 7-3 Skyline) piled up the points thanks to 50 percent shooting from the field in the second half, making 9-of-18 three-point attempts in the second half and 15 treys in the game.
SLC was led in scoring by
Ege Ozcan (Istanbul, Turkey/Andrews Osborne Acad. (Ohio)) for the third time this season. The sophomore transfer totaled 14 points, including five points from the foul line, while he added five rebounds.
Sophomore
Stevan Radosavljevic (Lazarevac, Serbia/Grammar School Lazarevac) notched his 15th career double-double on 10 points and a game-high 10 rebounds. An all-conference player last year, Radosavljevic may have found his offensive footing, reaching double figures in back-to-back games after hitting double digits only once in his previous 12 games.
Mat Gerak (Monroe, Conn./Masuk) contributed eight points with six rebounds. His scoring total matches his best since the team's home opener, while the rebounding effort equaled his season high.
Rookie
Andre Garibaldi (New Hope, Pa./New Hope-Solebury) scored five points off the bench, while classmate
Keith Burns (Belmont, Mass./Belmont) sank an early three-pointer to account for the majority of his four points.
Sarah Lawrence is slated to be on the road again Monday; however, the Gryphons' 7 p.m. tipoff at Sage may be impacted by a winter storm. The latest updates will be posted at GoGryphons.com.
