Women's Volleyball Splits Final Road Matches

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 NEW YORK—Splitting the team's final road matches of the season, Sarah Lawrence College women's volleyball lost to Mount Saint Mary College, 3-0, but swept host Yeshiva University, 3-0, in a Skyline tri-match at Baruch College on Sunday.

Sarah Lawrence (3-22, 2-6 Skyline) def. Yeshiva (2-13, 1-7 Skyline), 3-0.
25-17, 25-20, 25-22.

AGAINST THE KNIGHTS
Sarah Lawrence had 10 kills in the team's first match. Junior Monet Thibou (Brooklyn, N.Y./Elisabeth Irwin) led the Gryphons for the first time this season, recording four kills in the match. Classmate Yolanda Lyne Cando (Arlington, Va./H-B Woodlawn) followed with three kills. Setter CJ Kelley (Las Vegas, Nev./Basic) had seven assists, a team-high 10 digs, two blocks and two kills. Thibou also had a block and the team's only service ace in the match. Rookie Seven Green (Akwesasne/Frank Sinatra Sch. of the Arts) recorded a block, three digs and a kill.

AGAINST YESHIVA
Sarah Lawrence picked up its second conference win by cruising to victory in all three sets against Yeshiva. Thibou landed four kills in the first set and finished the match with nine. Green broke loose in the second and third sets, racking up 10 kills in two frames for a career-high 13 kills in the match. Green also recorded her second double-double thanks to 11 digs in the match.

Kelley also had a double-double, racking up 24 assists and 21 digs in the match. Marie Richter (Chemnitz, Germany/St. Andrew's School) reached double figures, posting 16 digs against YU and 21 on the day. Eleni Spentzouris (Naperville, Ill./Naperville North) put 12 digs on the scoresheet in the match, adding four kills, two aces and two assists. Cando landed eight kills against the Maccabees, matching her second-highest total of the season; she also helped the defense with 12 digs.

IN THE RECORD BOOK
SLC's 42 kills and 78 digs against Yeshiva are both program records.

UP NEXT
Sarah Lawrence concludes the 2015 season at home. The Gryphons host NJCU on Friday night at 6 p.m., and on Saturday, they return to Noyes Court to host Sage and St. Joseph's Brooklyn in a season-finale tri-match.
