SOMERS, Wisc.—Sarah Lawrence College student-athletes
Hannah Lawson (Portland, Ore./Pacific Crest Community School) and
Anthony Lee (Stevensville, Md./Kent Island) have been named Skyline Conference Women's and Men's Swimmer of the Week by CollegeSwimming.com, as announced by the website on Monday.
Selection criteria for the award include "the number of individual and relay event wins in a given week, the strength of each swim (using CollegeSwimming.com's Point Values), and the team outcome (i.e. win or loss)."
At the SLC Sprint Carnival on Oct. 31, Lawson recorded five event wins. She posted SLC's fastest 100 yard freestyle mark this season, winning the race in 1:00.40. She also triumphed in the 50 yard breaststroke (33.45) and took first in the 100 breaststroke (1:12.23). Lawson also contributed to wins in the 200 medley relay and 200 freestyle relay. Her 49 points in the meet were the most of any student-athlete.
Lee was one of three men's swimmers to win at least two individual events at the Sprint Carnival. He won the 50 freestyle in 23.72 seconds and the 200 free in 1:57.29. Lee also took second in the 100 freestyle (51.03), while both his 100 free and 200 free times are the team's fastest this season. Lee helped the Green and White Relays to runner-up swims in both the 200 medley relay and 200 free relay.
