Cameron Martinez (Aledo, Texas/Aledo) was named Men's Swimmer of the Week in back-to-back weeks. First-year Gryphon
Anthony Lee (Stevensville, Md./Kent Island) was named Men's Swimming Rookie of the Week.
WOMEN'S SWIMMER OF THE WEEKHannah Lawson (Portland, Ore./Pacific Crest Community School)In Saturday's meet against College of Mount Saint Vincent and SUNY Cobleskill, Lawson continued her individual event winning streak by placing first in both the 200 yard freestyle (2:08.24) and 200 breaststroke (2:32.92). Lawson also anchored the Gryphons' victorious 400 freestyle relay (4:07.23), leading her team to wins against both opponents. Lawson has won her last five individual races and seven of her last eight.
MEN'S SWIMMER OF THE WEEKCameron Martinez (Aledo, Texas/Aledo)On Saturday, Martinez won the 400 yard individual medley in a time of 4:25.28, more than 20 seconds faster than his own record set in 2013. The senior Gryphon also placed first in the 200 butterfly (2:00.80), and was on the winning 400 medley relay squad (4:20.64). His efforts helped the SLC team pick up victories over Cobleskill and Mount Saint Vincent.
MEN'S SWIMMING ROOKIE OF THE WEEKAnthony Lee (Stevensville, Md./Kent Island)Lee received his first Skyline Rookie of the Week accolades after winning three events in Saturday's double-dual. He scored individual victories in the 50 freestyle (23.34) and 100 freestyle (50.57) events. Lee also swam the lead-off backstroke leg of the winning Green and White 400 medley relay squad (4:20.64).
The Sarah Lawrence women's and men's swimming teams next compete against Mount Saint Mary College on Saturday at Campbell Sports Center at 1:30 p.m.
