Men's Basketball Faces Off against Yeshiva

Box Score NEW YORK—Sarah Lawrence College men's basketball played its final road Skyline game of its inaugural season in the league, falling to Yeshiva University, 83-58, at Max Stern Athletic Center on Tuesday.

Sarah Lawrence (1-22, 0-17 Skyline) drained three-point baskets on each of its first two possessions to take an early 6-2 edge. Sophomore captain Graham Gilleran (San Francisco, Calif./Archbishop Riordan) put away the first basket on a pass from rookie Logan Dubek (Tempe, Ariz./Corona del Sol) before Gilleran assisted Dubek on the second.

SLC went on to lead 12-8 after six minutes, but Yeshiva (12-10, 9-7 Skyline) erased the last advantage that the Gryphons would hold.

Sophomore Jeff Jordan II (Smithfield, Va., Smithfield) tied the game at 14-14, and went on to score each of the Gryphons' next two baskets.

By halftime, YU was still within reach, 41-30. Gilleran finished the period with all nine of his points on the day, while Jordan totaled 11 at the intermission.

In the second half, rookie Christian Moraros (Brooklyn, N.Y./ELEV|8 Academy) came off the bench to score nine points, while sophomore Mat Gerak (Monroe, Conn./Masuk) recorded seven of his nine points in the period.

Yeshiva maintained a double-digit lead throughout the second period en route to victory. The Maccabees capitalized on 25 points on 31 shots from the foul line, marking the Gryphons' fourth time this season yielding at least that many from the charity stripe.

Jordan finished with a team-high 13 points. Making his first career start, rookie center Andre Garibaldi (New Hope, Pa./New Hope-Solebury) collected a game-high six rebounds, matched by half a dozen credited to Gerak. Dubek finished with three assists and two steals to go with his five points.

Sophomore Brendan O'Connell (Andover, Mass./Phillips Academy Andover) made good on two shots from three-point territory to finish with six points, and rookie Glenn Forstner (Great Neck, N.Y./Great Neck South) scored five points and notched a pair of blocks while playing a season-high 16 points.

For Yeshiva, Shelby Rosenberg and Benjy Ritholtz each scored a game-high 20 points. Ritholtz tallied five steals, the most by any SLC opponent this season.

Sarah Lawrence concludes the Skyline season by hosting Sage at 7 p.m. on Thursday. The Gryphons then round out the regular season with a visit to NCAA Division I opponent NJIT on Saturday, Feb. 28.
