A powerful team from Mount Saint Vincent (9-5, 4-2 Skyline) racked up 30 kills in the day's first match. The offense of Sarah Lawrence (0-4, 0-2 Skyline) was kept in check, as sophomore
Amit Sankaran (San Francisco, Calif./Mallya Aditi International) had the Gryphons' only kill. Rookie
Isaac Gamboa (Bakersfield, Calif./Stockdale) led the SLC defense with four digs.
In the day's neutral match, Mount Saint Vincent made quick work of Yeshiva (2-9, 1-5 Skyline), winning in three sets, 25-7, 25-10, 25-12.
The final match of the day saw the visiting Maccabees overcome Sarah Lawrence. Junior
Alex Carroll (Boston, Mass./Homeschooled) had three kills, while setter
Richie Warke (Vancouver, Canada/Rockridge Secondary) had two kills in the match and totaled four assists on the day. Carroll also led the Green and White with a service ace in each match.
Against Yeshiva, junior
Cameron Martinez (Aledo, Texas/Aledo) tallied a season-high nine digs, finishing with a team high 12 in the tri-match. Warke had a career-high seven digs against YU, while senior
Derek Komar (Stormville, N.Y./John Jay) recorded a career-high six digs.
Sarah Lawrence returns to action on Wednesday when the Gryphons host Bard College for a non-conference match at 7 p.m. at Campbell Sports Center.
