Box Score BROOKLYN, N.Y.—Sarah Lawrence College men's volleyball began the weekend by traveling to Pratt Institute for a non-conference match on Friday. The Gryphons held their opponents to a season-low hitting percentage, but the Cannoneers still managed a straight-set victory.
After Pratt (4-4) took control by winning the first two sets, Sarah Lawrence (0-6) showed composure in the third set. The Gryphons erased a 9-6 deficit by scoring five straight points to take an 11-9 advantage. The Green and White stayed within one point at 15-14 before Pratt pulled away, 25-18.
Sophomore
Amit Sankaran (San Francisco, Calif./Mallya Aditi International) racked up a career-best and match-high 12 digs on defense. At the net, junior
Alex Carroll (Boston, Mass./Homeschooled) recorded his first block of the season and put away a team-best four kills. Classmate
Cameron Martinez (Aledo, Texas/Aledo) had a pair of kills in the match. Setter
Richie Warke (Vancouver, Canada/Rockridge Secondary) assisted six spikes.
For Pratt, David Cutler led all players with nine kills, while Chris Fantin had 12 assists, and Alex Arsovski tallied 11 digs.
Sarah Lawrence is in action again on Sunday when the Gryphons travel to Yeshiva University for a Skyline tri-match with The Sage Colleges
