Box Score BRONXVILLE, N.Y.—Sarah Lawrence College men's volleyball concluded its 2015 season with a 3-0 loss to St. Joseph's College Brooklyn in a non-conference match at Noyes Court at Campbell Sports Center on Thursday.
After the match, SLC honored graduating senior
Derek Komar (Stormville, N.Y./John Jay). Komar joined the team as a sophomore transfer in 2013, and over the course of his three seasons, he ascended the program's career records lists. He finished his career ranked among the top 10 Gryphons in kills, digs, service aces and assists. In addition, Komar has played the second-most total matches of any Gryphon in varsity program history.
In Thursday's match, St. Joseph's (9-9) captured the first two sets, 25-10 and 25-17. The third set saw Sarah Lawrence (0-20) recover from an early five-point deficit to tie the set at 7-7. With the score tied 13-13, SJC pulled ahead, but Sarah Lawrence cut the deficit to one point at 19-18. In the end, the Bears scored six of the last nine points to clinch the victory.
Junior
Alex Carroll (Boston, Mass./Homeschooled) led the Gryphon attack with six kills, while sophomore
Amit Sankaran (San Francisco, Calif./Mallya Aditi International) landed five kills. Setter
Richie Warke (Vancouver, Canada/Rockridge Secondary) had nine assists and scored two kills of his own.

Isaac Gamboa (Bakersfield, Calif./Stockdale) each led the defense with nine digs apiece. Junior
Cameron Martinez (Aledo, Texas/Aledo) followed with seven digs of his own.
In the final match of his career, Komar posted a kill and three digs with a match-high three aces.
Libero
Justin Heftel (Spokane, Wash./Saint George's School) had three digs in the match, while rookie
Brendan McAlevy (Fairfax, Va./Paul VI Catholic) had three attacks in his final set of the season.
