NEW YORK-Two Sarah Lawrence College student-athletes have been named to the Skyline Conference Honor Roll, as announced by the league on Monday. Softball player
Riley Vuyovich (Toms River, N.J./Toms River North) and men's tennis player
Jasper Soloff (New York, N.Y./Trevor Day School) were honored for their achievements in the past week.
SOFTBALLVuyovich went 9-for-15 (.600) over seven games last week, scoring seven runs. She had three doubles over the week, increasing her total to an SLC-record 12 on the season. In the Gryphons' win against Yeshiva, she scored her first career home run, helping SLC to the walk-off victory. Through April 15, Vuyovich ranked among the nation's top 10 in batting average (ninth), doubles per game (sixth) and on-base percentage (ninth).
MEN'S TENNISMaking his collegiate debut, Soloff earned a pair of singles victories in SLC's two matches last weekend. On Saturday, he took a straight-sets victory over his opponent from St. Joseph's Long Island, 6-4, 6-4. Then, on Sunday, he rebounded from a 4-1 deficit to tie his No. 5 singles match at 5-5. After forcing a tiebreaker, he fought off two Lehman match points to win his pro-set match, 8-7(10-8).
