Callan Moor (Los Angeles, Calif./New Roads) recorded the Gryphons' first kill of the season in Friday's opening set.
In the second set, setter
Richard Warke (Vancouver, Canada/Rockridge Secondary) set up senior
Zach Hasl (Somers, N.Y./Soundview Preparatory) for his first kill of the season.
In the third set, sophomore
Isaac Gamboa (Bakersfield, Calif./Stockdale) notched a pair of kills and a service ace. Moor and rookie
Darcy Thompson (Highland Park, N.J./Highland Park) shared SLC's first block of the season.
Warke finished with four assists, while on defense, rookie
Gavin Spilker (Weston, Ohio/Otsego) led the Gryphons with three digs, followed by Moor with two and Warke and
Alex Carroll (Boston, Mass./Homeschooled) with a dig each.
FOR THE DOLPHINSTyler Cucullu, Sean O'Connor and Owen Smith led the match with seven kills each. Cucullu served up eight aces, and setter Logan Dickover finished with 19 assists. Jordan Steiger tallied a match-high eight digs.
UP NEXTSarah Lawrence hosts Cooper Union on Saturday, Feb. 20. The Gryphons then play host to Purchase College and Yeshiva University in a Skyline tri-match on Sunday, Feb. 21, starting at 11 a.m.
