BRONXVILLE, N.Y.—In the teams' first ever meeting, Sarah Lawrence College men's volleyball was defeated by The City College of New York, 3-0, in a non-conference match at Noyes Court at Campbell Sports Center on Friday.

Isaac Gamboa (Bakersfield, Calif./Stockdale) had his first kill of the day, while senior
Alex Carroll (Boston, Mass./Homeschooled) served up an ace. Rookie
Darcy Thompson (Highland Park, N.J./Highland Park) also had a kill during the run.
Senior
Zach Hasl (Somers, N.Y./Soundview Preparatory) and rookie
Callan Moor (Los Angeles, Calif./New Roads) each recorded a kill in the first set. Carroll had two kills in the frame. Late in the set, Hasl and sophomore
Richard Warke (Vancouver, Canada/Rockridge Secondary) shared the Gryphons' first block of the match.
In the second set, Carroll had a pair of kills to score both of SLC's offensive points. In addition, Thompson and Hasl contributed a shared block. The third set featured an ace by Moor, and additional kills from Gamboa and Carroll.
FOR THE GRYPHONSCarroll led the Green and White with five kills. Warke set up eight kills and tallied four digs, and Moor led the defense with eight digs. Gamboa also had five digs in the match, Hasl had two, and
Gavin Spilker (Weston, Ohio/Otsego) also had a dig in the match.
FOR THE BEAVERSCCNY was led by Sebastjano Aga who led all players with 13 kills, four aces and 12 digs, earning his sixth double-double of the season. Setter Oleksandr Boychuk had 26 assists in the match.
UP NEXTSarah Lawrence travels to Ramapo College on Saturday. The Gryphons take on the host Roadrunners at noon before facing St. Joseph's College Brooklyn at 2 p.m.
