NEW YORK—After the duo pitched back-to-back no-hitters against York College (N.Y.), two Sarah Lawrence College softball student-athletes have been selected by the Skyline Conference as weekly honorees, as announced by the league on Monday. Sophomore
Kamaron McNair (Lawrenceville, N.J./The Hun School) was named Skyline Pitcher of the Week, while first year
Mikayla Cunningham (Mayville, Mich./Millington) was named Softball Rookie of the Week.
SOFTBALL PITCHER OF THE WEEKKamaron McNair (Lawrenceville, N.J./The Hun School)McNair captured SLC's first-ever Pitcher of the Week accolades by throwing the program's second no-hitter to complete a doubleheader sweep of York. McNair struck out five Cardinals, allowing a pair of walks in a 10-0 six-inning shutout. The sophomore Gryphon helped herself with 3-for-4 batting, scoring two runs and batting-in two others in the win. She also scored a run in the first game of the day.
SOFTBALL ROOKIE OF THE WEEKMikayla Cunningham (Mayville, Mich./Millington)Cunningham is the first Gryphon to be named Skyline Softball Rookie of the Week after pitching the SLC program's first-ever no-hitter. The Gryphon threw five innings in a 9-0 shutout over York, striking out five while allowing one walk. From the plate, Cunningham had a walk, run and RBI in the game. In the nightcap, she added a hit, run and RBI in a 10-0 shutout of the Cardinals.
