Box Score NEW YORK—Sarah Lawrence College played its final Skyline road match of the season, falling to Yeshiva University, 3-0, at Max Stern Athletic Center on Wednesday.

MATCH FLOW
In set one, Sarah Lawrence took a 6-3 advantage and led by three at 9-6. The Maccabees kept the score close, and the two teams fought through seven ties to an 11-11 deadlock. Yeshiva strung together eight straight points to go in front, and the home team closed out the first set, 25-15. Junior Isaac Gamboa (Bakersfield, Calif./Stockdale) landed two kills in the set, and rookie Callan Moor (Los Angeles, Calif./New Roads) scored SLC's third kill of the set.

In the second set, an early kill by Moor helped the Gryphons tie the score at 5-5. YU scored the next four points, and SLC was forced to use a timeout, trailing 13-8. Out of the break, YU went on a 7-1 run to stretch the lead to 20-9. The Gryphons scored seven of the last 12 points of the set, but the rally ran out of room in the 25-16 loss. Moor scored four kills in the set, including three straight Gryphon points late in the stanza. Moor and senior Zach Hasl (Somers, N.Y./Soundview Preparatory) split SLC's first block of the match, and sophomore Richard Warke (Vancouver, Canada/Rockridge Secondary) served up the team's first ace of the match. Senior Alex Carroll (Boston, Mass./Homeschooled) also had a kill late in the set.

Rookie Darcy Thompson (Highland Park, N.J./Highland Park) landed a kill to tie the third set at 3-3. Moor had an early kill and Hasl served up an ace as the teams exchanged points through six ties to knot the set at 9-9. A service ace by Warke helped the Gryphons take a two-point edge at 11-9. After the Gryphons fell behind, 16-13, Gamoba and Hasl shared a block as part of a 5-0 run that put SLC on top, 18-16. From there, YU scored the next two points to tie the match at 18-18, and six points later, the Maccabees were sitting on match point, 24-18. SLC scored once more but couldn't halt YU's efforts.

Sarah Lawrence scored on 36 Yeshiva errors, including two SLC blocks.

FOR THE GRYPHONS
Behind Moor's six kills, Gamboa had two kills, while Carroll and Thompson notched a kill each. Warke had two aces and set up six assists; Moor and Hasl had one assist apiece. On defense, Warke led the match with 12 digs, and both Moor and Thompson had seven digs. Carroll finished with four digs, and rookie Maxwell Savo (Cross River, N.Y./John Jay) contributed a dig.

FOR THE MACCABEES
Michael Klein led all players with 11 kills. Jorge Dabah tallied 27 assists, and Jonathan Goldstein led his team with nine digs.

Sarah Lawrence travels to Medgar Evers on Friday for the team's final road match of the season. The Gryphons conclude 2016 at home on Saturday when they play host to Ramapo College and New Jersey City University in a Skyline tri-match beginning at 11 a.m.
