NEW YORK—Sarah Lawrence College student-athletes
James Berry (New York, N.Y./Kent) and
Em Hammett (Columbus, Ohio/The Wellington School) were named to the Skyline Conference Honor Roll for their achievements in the past week, as announced by the league on Tuesday.
MEN'S TENNIS
Berry went 4-2 over the past week, including 2-1 records in both singles and doubles play. Against York (N.Y.), Berry won his No. 4 singles match, 6-0, 6-0, and his No. 3 doubles match, 8-0, securing both victories without giving up a single game. He also won a pair of matches against St. Joseph's College Brooklyn, helping SLC to its third Skyline win of the season. For the season, he shares a team-high five individual wins while contributing a 4-3 record in doubles action.
SOFTBALL
In the team's only games of the week, Hammett batted 3 for 7 in the Gryphons' Skyline doubleheader at Old Westbury. The sophomore hit 2 for 4 in game two of the series, scoring a run and batting in another, marking her second game of the season with a hit, run and RBI in a single contest. SLC had an 18-run improvement in the team's scoring margin against Old Westbury compared to the 2015 series.
