BRONXVILLE, N.Y.—Sarah Lawrence College men's volleyball began the 2017 season by hosting Brooklyn College in a non-conference match at Noyes Court at Campbell Sports Center on Friday.

KEY PERFORMANCES
After Brooklyn controlled most of the first set, the Gryphons mounted a late rally. Sarah Lawrence scored nine of 10 straight points, narrowing their deficit to 22-17. During the run, rookie
Zack Roccaforte (Albuquerque, N.M./Albuquerque Academy) served up back-to-back aces, while junior
Maxwell Savo (Cross River, N.Y./John Jay) notched a pair of kills.
In the second set, Sarah Lawrence took an early lead before Brooklyn regained control. The Gryphons also tied the match early in the third set after a kill by sophomore
Callan Moor (Los Angeles, Calif./New Roads).
Moor led the Gryphons with four kills. Rookie setter
Ithai Diakov (Sofia, Bulgaria/B.I.S.) had five assists and a kill in the match. First year
Harris Silcott (Los Angeles, Calif./CHAMPS Charter) finished with an assist and a kill, while senior
Isaac Gamboa (Bakersfield, Calif./Stockdale) also contributed a kill.
On defense, Silcott led the team with six digs, while Moor had four digs in the match. Silcott and Gamboa split the Gryphons' lone block of the match.

Sarah Lawrence returns to action on Saturday for a non-conference tri-match. The Gryphons host Pratt Institute at noon before taking on Dean College in the day's third match.
