BRONXVILLE, N.Y.—Despite a nail-biter finish in the final match of the day, Sarah Lawrence College men's volleyball was defeated by Pratt Institute, 3-0, and by Dean College, 3-2, in a non-conference tri-match at Noyes Court at Campbell Sports Center on Saturday.

AGAINST PRATT
All six Gryphons recorded at least one kill apiece in the first match of the day. Sophomore
Callan Moor (Los Angeles, Calif./New Roads) led the team with eight kills, adding seven digs on defense. Senior
Isaac Gamboa (Bakersfield, Calif./Stockdale) added four kills, six digs and a service ace.
Rookie
Harris Silcott (Los Angeles, Calif./CHAMPS Charter) notched a pair of kills and led the defense with eight digs in the match. Junior
Maxwell Savo (Cross River, N.Y./John Jay) also had multiple kills, landing a pair of spikes while scoring the team's only block of the match. First year setter
Ithai Diakov (Sofia, Bulgaria/B.I.S.) totaled 15 assist, five digs and a kill. In his collegiate debut,
Matias Sanchez (Córdoba, Argentina/Academia Arguello) contributed a kill and a dig.
AGAINST DEAN
Sarah Lawrence had a strong start against the Bulldogs, totaling nine kills and eight service aces in the first set against Dean. The Gryphons took their largest lead, 12-4, after a 6-0 run. Dean tied the set at 23-23, but Sarah Lawrence prevailed, 25-23.
After Dean responded to win the second set, Sarah Lawrence responded in the third. The Green and White totaled a season-high 10 kills in the frame. A streak of six-straight Bulldogs points nearly spoiled the set, yet SLC responded to take a 23-18 advantage. Dean struck back to lead 24-23, and the Gryphons scored four of the last five points in the 27-25 set.
From there, Dean regained momentum, totaling 19 kills over the final two sets compared the Gryphons' nine. Dean's Moussa Seck had seven of his 23 kills in the fourth set and clinched victory by scoring the final three points of the match.
Moor led the team with a season-high 15 kills, rounding out his first collegiate double-double with 25 digs and the team's only block. Silcott had nine kills and 10 digs, while Gamboa posted six kills and 13 digs. Diakov also had a double-double, racking up 29 assists and 12 digs.
Savo landed two kills while totaling five digs, and rookie
Zack Roccaforte (Albuquerque, N.M./Albuquerque Academy) served up three aces in the match.
