Box Score THROGGS NECK, N.Y.—In the Gryphons' penultimate game of the season, Sarah Lawrence College men's basketball was defeated by Maritime College (N.Y.), 83-73, in a Skyline game at Riesenberg Hall Gymnasium on Tuesday.

Joseph Kleeman (Greenwood Village, Colo./Arapahoe) each scored early three-point field goals to put the Gryphons in front, 10-6, for what would be their largest lead of the game. Maritime led by as many as six points, 18-12, at the midpoint of the period. Senior co-captain
Mat Gerak (Monroe, Conn./Masuk) drained a jump shot that kicked off a 6-0 run to even the score at 18-18. Neither team was able to pull away by more than four points, and at halftime, the Privateers held a slim 36-35 edge.
In the second half, Maritime took a seven-point lead 47-40. Rookie
BJ Sanders (Silver Spring, Md./Georgetown Prep) countered with a layup, while Gerak followed with a field goal and Eng added another trey to erase the deficit, 47-47. After five more points from Kleeman, the Gryphons were back in possession of the lead, 52-49.
From there, the Privateers went on a 9-0 run that put the Gryphons on their heels. Back-to-back three-pointers by Eng propelled the Green and White to within one possession, 70-67 with seven minutes remaining. Sarah Lawrence was held without a field goal for the rest of the contest, and despite six made free throws, SLC was unable to catch the Privateers, who improved to 7-3 on their home court this season.
TOP GRYPHONS
Kleeman led the team with 17 points, adding seven rebounds. Eng also hit double figures by notching 14 points, including 12 scored on three-pointers. Sanders led the team with eight rebounds, scoring seven points.
Senior
Jeff Jordan II (Smithfield, Va./Smithfield) totaled nine points with five coming from the charity stripe. Senior co-captain
Graham Gilleran (San Francisco, Calif./Archbishop Riordan) had a pair of blocks and contributed seven points, and Gerak scored four points while dishing out a team-high four assists.

Sarah Lawrence once more returns to Bronxville for the Gryphons' season finale on Saturday. The team hosts Mount Saint Mary College at Campbell Sports Center at 1 p.m.
