KEY PERFORMANCES
In the team's match against Lehman, the Lightning jumped out to a fast start in the first set. In the second set, the Gryphons benefitted from LC errors to take a 3-1 edge. Rookie
Harris Silcott (Los Angeles, Calif./CHAMPS Charter) scored the first point of the third set with a kill before Lehman took control of the action to complete the sweep.
Sophomore
Callan Moor (Los Angeles, Calif./New Roads) and rookie
BJ Sanders (Silver Spring, Md./Georgetown Prep) each had a team-high four kills in the match; Moor aalso contributed four digs, an assist and a solo block. Silcott finished with three kills and a dig, while senior
Isaac Gamboa (Bakersfield, Calif./Stockdale) had a kill, three digs and nine assists in the contest.
Against Staten Island, Silcott led the squad with four kills, adding three assists and 10 digs, marking his third match with double-digit digs or better. Moor posted three kills, six digs, an assist and a service ace against the Dolphins.
Junior
Maxwell Savo (Cross River, N.Y./John Jay) totaled two digs, an assist and a season-high 10 digs against Staten Island. Rookie
Zack Roccaforte (Albuquerque, N.M./Albuquerque Academy) contributed five digs, a kill and an assist; both he and Sanders split the team's two blocks in the match.
Gamboa notched a kill, eight digs and six assists in the second match, and rookie
Ithai Diakov (Sofia, Bulgaria/B.I.S.) had one dig on the day.
