KING'S POINT, N.Y. – The Sarah Lawrence women's volleyball team dropped a pair of Skyline matches Sunday in a tri-match with Merchant Marine and St. Joseph's Brooklyn at Liebertz Gym.

Facing a 6-2 deficit in the opening set, the Gryphons used an 8-1 spurt, including seven unanswered points, to take a 10-7 lead. The Bears countered, scoring eight straight points while finishing the set on a 15-6 run to take a 1-0 series lead.
Sarah Lawrence won the second game to even the series. Tied at 5-5, St. Joseph's used a 7-2 run to take a five point lead. The Gryphons responded, outscoring the Bears 9-1 for a 16-13 advantage. The two teams continued to trade runs, tying the game at 23. Sarah Lawrence scored the final two points of the set, thanks to a kill from
Lauren Kilroy and an ace from
Isabel Pecora.
St. Joseph's doubled up on Sarah Lawrence in the third set, holding a 14-7 lead en route to a 25-16 win and a 2-1 series lead. The Bears concluded the match with a 25-13 set four victory.
Kilroy finished with a game-high 36 digs, breaking her own single match mark of 30 set in 2016 at Staten Island. Her 36 digs are also the most recorded in a match in the Skyline this season.
USMMA 3, SLC 0
The Mariners scored the first four points of the set, racing out to a 5-1 lead en route to taking the first game, 25-12. USMMA jumped out to a 7-2 margin in the second set to cruise to a 25-14 win and a 2-0 series edge. Facing elimination, the Gryphons started strong with an 8-3 lead in the third set. The Mariners rallied, going on to outscore Sarah Lawrence 22-6 to complete the sweep.
Kilroy paced the Gryphons with 21 digs, the most recorded against the Mariners this season.
