Davis Posts Double-Double Against St. Joseph’s Long Island

BRONXVILLE, N.Y. - The Sarah Lawrence women's basketball team made its 2018-19 Campbell Sports Center debut Tuesday against St. Joseph's Long Island.

TOP GRYPHON PERFORMERS
Camryn Davis turned in the first double-double of her collegiate career, finishing with 17 points and 11 rebounds. The rookie also contributed five assists and three steals.

Emmamazy Prior reached double-figures, scoring 11 points. The senior has posted double-digit point totals in all three games this season. Prior also grabbed eight rebounds.

Melanie Coleman finished with six points and a team-high 13 rebounds, while Tess Carrier scored seven points and Kaylin Yamada added six. Calista Fyfe recorded four rebounds and a field goal.

RECAP
Sarah Lawrence hung in tough against St. Joseph's in its first home game of the season. Trailing 12-8 with 2:23 to play in the first quarter, the Gryphons scored the final five points of the stanza to take a 13-12 lead into the second period.

The Golden Eagles outscored Sarah Lawrence 12-5 in the first 5:28 of the second quarter to hold a 24-17 lead. The Gryphons closed the gap over the final minutes to trail 26-22 at the break.

Sarah Lawrence started the second half solid, hitting back-to-back field goals in the opening minute to tie the contest 26-26. St. Joseph's pulled away, outscoring the Gryphons 28-9 to finish the quarter en route to securing its first win of the year.
