BRONXVILLE, N.Y. – The Sarah Lawrence women's volleyball team suffered a 3-1 loss on Saturday to John Jay at Campbell Sports Center.

Melanie Coleman paced the Gryphons with 11 kills, while
Isabel Pecora registered a team-high 15 assists.
Lauren Kilroy tallied 17 digs and three aces, while
Cat Ramey chipped in with four kills and three aces.
The Gryphons started out strong, defeating the Bloodhounds, 25-16, for their first set victory of the 2018 season. It was a back and forth battle between the two squads in the second set, but John Jay prevailed with a 29-27 decision. Knotted at six in the third set, the Bloodhounds pulled away with a 12-4 spurt to take a 2-1 series lead. John Jay finished off the match convincingly, winning the fourth game, 25-9.

Sarah Lawrence returns to action Wednesday (Sept. 19) with a non-conference match against York at Campbell Sports Center. Game time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
