NEW YORK, N.Y. – The Sarah Lawrence women's volleyball team dropped a five-set non-conference match at CCNY Tuesday at Nat Holman Gymnasium.

Sarah Lawrence doubled up on the Beavers in the opening frame, racing out to a 14-7 lead. The Gryphons held a margin as large as nine points to win the set, 25-16.
CCNY tied the series in the second set. Knotted at 12-12, the Beavers finished the game on a 13-3 run to secure the victory, 25-15.
The Gryphons responded in the third set. The two teams traded points in the early going for a 6-6 score. Sarah Lawrence created separation with a 10-3 run to open up a 16-9 cushion, going on to outscore CCNY 9-6 the rest of the way for a 25-15 win and 2-1 series edge. The Beavers forced a decisive fifth set, holding on for a 26-24 verdict in the fourth game.
In the final frame, CCNY scored the first six points, going on to win 15-8 to clinch the series.
Melanie Coleman recorded a match-high 20.5 points, collecting 15 kills, three aces and three blocks (two solo, one assist). The junior also posted six digs.
Lauren Kilroy finished with her first double-double of the season, contributing 10 kills, a season-high, and 11 digs.
Isabel Pecora handed out a season-best 35 assists, while
Clarise Steiner accumulated 24 digs, her sixth match with 20 or more digs this season.
