SCRANTON, Pa. – Four Gryphons scored in double-figures to lead Sarah Lawrence men's basketball to a 96-59 wire-to-wire win over Houghton Saturday on the final day of the 2019 Hilton Scranton Invitational at the John Long Center. It's the Gryphons first-ever victory over an opponent from the Empire 8 Athletic Conference.

TOP GRYPHON PERFORMERS
Enike Anyia led all scorers with 18 points (6-8 FG, 6-6 FT), while also recording seven rebounds and two steals.
BJ Sanders had a solid outing, finishing with 17 points, eight rebounds and a team-best four assists, while
Omar Jamaleddine posted 15 points and 10 rebounds, his second double-double of the season.
Chris Torres reached double-figures for the first time in his collegiate career, scoring 10 points while collecting four rebounds and three assists.
Isaiah Pean dropped in eight points, while
Justin Bailey added seven.
Six other Gryphons contributed at least one field goal in the win, including
Luke O'Connor,
Liam Barry,
Andrew Varoli,
Sammy Marshall,
Ray McKenzie and
Keith Burns.
The Gryphons' 96 points are the third most in a game in team history and the fifth time that the program has eclipsed 90 or more.

Sarah Lawrence turned in a strong performance on the final day of the tournament in the first-ever meeting with the Highlanders.
Sarah Lawrence raced out to an early double-digit lead, scoring the first 15 points of the contest, knocking down five of its first seven field goal attempts. Houghton was unable to score for the first 4:13 of the game, missing its first six shots.
Sarah Lawrence held a double-digit lead throughout the half, holding a margin as large as 28 (45-17), taking a 47-21 advantage into intermission. The Gryphons shot 53-percent in the period, highlighted by Anyia's 14 points (4-4 FG, 6-6 FT).
Sarah Lawrence continued to cruise in the second half, outscoring Houghton, 49-37, building its largest lead of the afternoon (43) en route to its second victory of the season.
The Gryphons took advantage of their size in the win, scoring 54 points in the paint. Sarah Lawrence outrebounded the Highlanders, 51-25, including a 16-4 margin in offensive boards, leading to 21 second chance points.
Sarah Lawrence also took advantage of Houghton miscues, forcing 19 turnovers and converting it into 24 points.
