BRONX, N.Y. – Omar Jamaleddine scored a school record 36 points on Friday, but it wasn't enough, as Lehman rallied from a 20-point first half deficit to defeat Sarah Lawrence in overtime, 95-88, at APEX Gymnasium.

Jamaleddine's 36 points surpassed the previous best of 35 set by the sophomore last season. It was one of three new school records from Jamaleddine, as he also set new single game standards in made field goals (14) and steals (7). The sophomore also grabbed 13 rebounds while handing out five assists.
Andrew Varoli had a career night, scoring a personal best 24 points. The sophomore knocked down eight three-point field goals, tied for the second most 3-pointers in an outing in team history.
Enike Anyia finished with seven points and eight rebounds, while
Liam Barry,
Keith Burns and
Isaiah Pean contributed five points apiece.

Sarah Lawrence fell behind early, 8-3, but went on to outscore the Lightening 31-6, highlighted by a pair of 10-0 runs, to hold a 34-14 lead with 7:05 remaining in the half. The Gryphons held the double-digit margin the rest of the way, taking a 47-27 advantage into the locker room.
Jamaleddine (17) and Varoli (12) combined for 29 points in the stanza, as Sarah Lawrence shot 49-percent from the field, including 46-percent from beyond the arc. The Gryphons did a solid job on the glass, grabbing eight offensive boards, fueling 13 second-chance points.
Lehman opened the second half with 10 straight points, chipping away at the deficit to tie the game, 71-71, with 3:07 left to play. The two teams traded baskets in the final minutes, with a pair of free throws from Lehman knotting the contest, 77-77, with five seconds left. The Gryphons had a look at the end of regulation, but did not convert, sending the game to overtime.
In the overtime period, Lehman hit five of its eight field goal attempts, outscoring Sarah Lawrence 18-11 to secure the non-conference victory.
Gian Batista ignited the Lightening comeback, scoring 33 points, all coming in the second half and overtime periods. Batista was one of four Lehman players to finish in double figures.
