Men’s Basketball Concludes Non-Conference Play with Home Loss to Muhlenberg

BRONXVILLE, N.Y. – Muhlenberg rallied from a double-digit second half deficit to defeat Sarah Lawrence, 95-85, in a non-conference contest Saturday at Campbell Sports Center.

TOP GRYPHON PERFORMERS
Omar Jamaleddine finished with a game-high 32 points, posting a 30-point effort for a second consecutive outing. The sophomore also contributed six rebounds, an assist and two steals.

Enike Anyia posted 17 points, eight rebounds, four assists and two steals, while BJ Sanders chipped in with 12 points, a team-high nine boards, three assists and a pair of swipes. Chris Torres recorded 11 points in the loss.

Muhlenberg scored the first five points of the game, racing out to an early 19-11 lead with 12:26 to play. Sarah Lawrence countered with a 9-1 spurt to knot the contest, 20-20, with 10:43 remaining in the stanza.

The Mules created separation, outscoring the Gryphons 17-10 over 6:49 to open up a 37-30 lead. Sarah Lawrence caught fire to end the period, finishing on a 12-3 run to take a 42-40 edge into halftime.

In the second half, the Gryphons continued to increase their margin, holding a 61-49 advantage with 13:34 to play, the largest lead by any squad in the contest.

Muhlenberg rallied, hitting 13 of its final 15 shots, completing the comeback and securing the non-league victory.

Four Mules finished in double figures, including Dallas Hoffman, who posted a team-best 29 points. Dan Gaines posted a double-double of 15 points and 10 assists in the win.
