RECAP
Sarah Lawrence, who entered the match 0-4 all-time against CCNY, scored 5:35 into the game. Coming off a hat trick performance in a win over Yeshiva,
Tiffany McBrayer scored her fifth goal of the year, tapping in a cross from
Haley Willibey.
The Gryphons tacked on another goal before intermission. For a fifth consecutive contest,
Niki Dalrymple found the back of the net for Sarah Lawrence. In the 42nd minute, the rookie finished to the left post off a through ball from McBrayer for her eighth score of the season.
CCNY, picked second in the CUNYAC Preseason Poll, kept things interesting, as Gabrielle Duchaussee, the reigning CUNYAC Player of the Week, scored in the 73rd minute to make it a 2-1 contest.
The Beavers were unable to generate any more offense after the score, as Sarah Lawrence continued to pepper the CCNY back line with shot attempts as the clock winded down.
Goalkeeper
Emily Cornejo earned her second victory in net, finishing with five saves, including several impressive stops in the first half of play.
It is the Gryphons third victory of the year over a CUNYAC institution, previously beating York (W, 8-0) and Lehman (W, 3-1).
Sarah Lawrence continues its dominance at Fleming Field, improving to 5-0 on the turf dating back to last season. The Gryphons have outscored their opponents by a 23-4 margin at their home site.
