BRONXVILLE, N.Y. – Former Sarah Lawrence College men's basketball star,
Omar Jamaleddine, signed a deal with 2020-2021 Lebanese Basketball League runner-up Champville SC last month.
Jamaleddine leaves Sarah Lawrence College basketball after a historic career that saw him break multiple program records and eclipse 1,000 career points.
Omar holds the record for most points scored in a game, going for 36 against Lehman College on December 13, 2019. His 35-point performance against Purchase on February 21, 2019 is the second-most points in a game in program history.
The Queens native holds the program record for scoring average in a season, putting up 21.6 points per contest throughout the 2019-20 season.
Jamaleddine is the first player in Sarah Lawrence College men's basketball history to sign a professional basketball contract.
Champville SC began its 2021-22 campaign on October 16, 2021. Jamaleddine went for 16 points and seven rebounds in 21 minutes of play.
Based in Dik El Mehdi, Lebanon, Champville SC was founded in 1967. Team accolades include a Lebanese Basketball League Championship in 2011-12, a Lebanese Cup championship in 2004 and 2010, a Lebanese SuperCup championship in 2013, a West Asian Basketball League Championship in 2013, and a Dubai International Tournament Championship in 2004.
