BRONXVILLE, N.Y. – The Sarah Lawrence College women's basketball team faced off against the Ramapo College Roadrunners in the home opener on Thursday night. SLC fell to RCNJ 90-51.
The teams were even early, exchanging leads five times. Five Gryphons found the score sheet in the first quarter. Sarah Lawrence headed into the second quarter facing an 18-16 deficit.
The Roadrunners pulled away in the second quarter, building the margin up 10 11 near the midway point. RCNJ outscored the Gryphons 28-9 in the second quarter, going into the break with a 21-point advantage.
That edge grew to 31 by the end of the third quarter. The Roadrunners carried the lead until the final whistle.
Jordyn Medina was the high-scorer for the Gryphons with 10 points. The junior added a team-high seven rebounds.
Kimiko Katzaroff set a new career-high in points, dropping nine.
Kumi Tamura and
Demitra Loukopoulos had eight points each.
Camryn Davis dished out six assists.
