BRONXVILLE, N.Y. – The Sarah Lawrence College women's basketball team began conference play on Tuesday night, going up against the Manhattanville College Valiants. SLC fell 81-35.
NUMBERS
- Kimiko Katzaroff finished with a team-high 12 points in her first collegiate start.
- Demitra Loukopoulos reached double-digits for the second time this season, going for 10 points. She also had two steals.
- Jordyn Medina led the team in rebounds, grabbing nine.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Manhattanville opened the game on a 13-4 run. Loukopoulos got two back for the Gryphons, cutting the deficit to seven. Down 15-6, SLC closed out the first quarter on a 7-4 run, gaining points from
Kumi Tamura and Loukopoulos.
The Valiants pulled away in the second quarter, stretching their lead to 20 near the midway point. Manhattanville went into the break ahead by 25.
From there, it was all Manhattanville. The Valiants won the third quarter 22-9 then went on to take the final quarter 16-8.
