Davis Posts Double-Double in Women's Hoops Season Opener

NEW YORK, N.Y. – Three different players finished in double-figures in scoring for the Sarah Lawrence College women's basketball team as the Gryphons took on Yeshiva University in the season-opener on Sunday afternoon. SLC fell to YU by a final score of 73-54.

THE NUMBERS
  • Demitra Loukopoulos was the high-scorer for the Gryphons, finishing the game with 16 points. She added seven rebounds and was perfect from the line, going 4-4.
  • Camryn Davis posted a double-double, going for 14 points and tying a career-high in rebounds with 13. She also led the team in assists with six.
  • Ana Srdanovic had 11 points and recorded two steals.
  • The Gryphons were 14-19 from the charity stripe.
  • SLC outscored Yeshiva on the fast break 17-8.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Yeshiva used a 15-0 run spanning six minutes to take a 23-8 lead into the second quarter. The Gryphons cut the gap to 10 at the 7:19 mark of the second quarter with a bucket from Camryn Davis. YU stretched its advantage to 17 with a little over three minutes remaining in the half. SLC narrowed the deficit to 12 ahead of the break.

Yeshiva saw its greatest lead in the third quarter, going up by 23 midway through the period. Sarah Lawrence won the final quarter 16-14 with Davis, Loukopoulos, and Srdanovic combining for all of the points except for a bucket by Jordyn Medina.

SLC faces off against Yeshiva again, this time at the Campbell Sports Center. Tip-off is scheduled for Tuesday, March 16 at 7:30 p.m.
