DANBURY, CONN. –
Skyler Kawecki-Muonio led the Sarah Lawrence College women's volleyball team in kills through both matches as the Gryphons competed in a tri-match at Western Connecticut State University on Saturday afternoon. SLC fell 3-0 to Rhode Island College and Western Connecticut State.
Sarah Lawrence jumped out to a 10-6 advantage in the first set of game one. Rhode Island College used a 14-5 run to take a 20-15 lead. The Achmormen won the set 25-19. Three different Gryphons:
Davis Mathis,
Georgi Massey, and
Claire Mitchell, recorded a kill in set two. RIC earned a 25-16 victory. Set three saw a similar fate for the Gryphons. Rhose Island never trailed, taking the set 25-17. Kawecki Muonio and
Tabitha Hardin-Zollo each had a service ace.
Game two had the largest deficit of the night for the Gryphons. Western Connecticut State went up 10 in the first set, grabbing a 25-15 win. The Colonials held the edge for the entirety of the second set. 25-17 was the final. In the last set of the day, Kawecki-Muonio, Massey, and Mitchell all had kills. WCSU won 25-14.
