How it happened
The game remained extremely close for most of the first half, with neither team finding overwhelming success on the offensive end and ending the first ten minutes of play tied at 12 points apiece. Two fastbreak layups by Tamura early in the second quarter gave the Gryphons an early advantage, but was soon wiped away as a three-pointer by Bard's Mae Redmond returned the lead to the Raptors with six minutes left in the first half. Following a layup by Dorch just one minute later, the Gryphons regained the lead by two points, only to be held scoreless for the final five minutes of the half and head into the break in a four point deficit.
Coming out of the break, the Gryphons scored back-to-back layups to bring the score within four points before Haymore scored nine straight points for the team. Within a two minute stretch, the junior from Miami, Fla. converted on three consecutive three-point plays to propel the Gryphons to a five-point lead that they would keep intact for the remainder of the contest, despite efforts from the Raptors to claw their way back into the game. A jumper by Bard's Jade Dinkins with under two minutes remaining tied the game at 46 but a timely three-pointer from Tamura gave Sarah Lawrence a lead that would remain throughout the final buzzer.
